Chinese gastronomy, which has become so popular in the West, brings one of its most emblematic dishes: pork ribs. This rich sweet and sour mixture is in great demand in restaurants specializing in that food, but it is also possible to prepare it at home.
Chinese pork ribs
Ingredients
12 pork ribs with enough meat
100 milliliters of hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon of honey
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
Toasted sesame seeds
Preparation
Place the ribs in a large pot and cover with water. Bring them to a simmer and let them boil for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, mix the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, vinegar and Chinese five-spice powder.
Drain the ribs in a colander and transfer them to a bowl. Coat them with the sauce mixture and store in the refrigerator.
Heat the grill and cook the ribs for 20 minutes, turning them occasionally. Remove them when they are shiny and slightly burnt.
When removed from the grill, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and serve hot.
